This session will teach the basics of the online design platform Canva. Canva is a website used to create visual content such as social media posts, graphics, brochures, presentations, posters, and more. We’ll demonstrate how to use the free version of Canva.

In this hands-on workshop, we'll use like Luma Ai and Polycam to capture and scan the world around us into 3D models. We'll learn how to scan objects and entire spaces to create detailed digital replicas that we can view, share, and even print. Please install the required apps on your smartphone before attending. Feel free to bring any small objects you'd like to digitize in 3D at the workshop. We'll have fun experimenting with these powerful tools to create a spatial collage of our captured scans. No prior experience needed, just bring your curiosity!

Microsoft Office Document Accessibility Basics: This hands-on workshop will go over the most important elements of creating accessible documents using Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. We will review fundamental principles of accessibility and learn how to use heading styles, create accessible tables and lists, add alt-text to images, and use the built-in Accessibility Checker.

In this session, I would like to cover some best practices for website homepages. The goal is to provide people with a few easy and actionable tips that they can incorporate on their unit's web page (i.e. contact us button, header image sizing and style, program information, etc.). I would also like to do demo using heat maps through Clarity so that people can look at their website's unique user journeys.

Dive head-first into the realm of course media production with our Academic Media team. This session will go over the preparation steps needed before the production process starts as well as how you can work with the Rutgers Academic Media team to level up your online course presence. Topics will include, media modality choice, script and material preparation, types of media and a example of what the process of recording will be like.

In general, paddlers are passionate about water sports, but are they concerned about the communities they serve? What would happen if a paddler joins other kayakers to collect food, raise money, and increase awareness about food insecurity in their communities? Is there an effective mechanism that they could use to promote paddling and community service simultaneously? The presentation ins't measured fiscally; instead, this model modifies crowdsourcing into a larger “crowd-creation,” which uses the kayaker’s time and experiences as a commodity for online social and communal outreach.
